Two Arrested and Two Firearms Recovered Thanks to Strong Work by B-2 First Half and The Gang Unit

At about 5:33 PM on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested two 17-year-old males from Dorchester on firearm related charges after responding to a call for a person with a gun in Roxbury.

On arrival, officers observed two males matching the given descriptions and approached to speak with them. As the officers began to pat frisk one of the males, they immediately detected the presence of a firearm at which time a violent struggle ensued. Officers were able to secure the first suspect with assistance from additional responding units and then safely recovered a fully loaded 9mm Ruger 9E handgun from the waistband area of the suspect’s pants.

Simultaneously, the second juvenile male suspect took off running while clutching at the waistband area of his pants with officers now in pursuit. The suspect eventually came to a stop and put his hands up at which time officers clearly observed a firearm in the waistband area of his pants. The second suspect was then placed in custody and a partially loaded .45 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun was recovered.

Two Firearms Recovered

Both 17-year-old juveniles are expected to appear in Boston Juvenile Court on multiple charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
