Saturday night, shortly before 19:00 hours, Boston Police for District A-1 received calls for a person that had self-presented to a local area hospital for a stabbing that happened in the Boston Common near the Brewer Fountain across from Lamberts on Tremont Street.
Hospital staff alerted Boston Police who then went to the hospital and interviewed the victim. Boston Police arrived to the scene and were able to recover a blood covered knife in a trashcan. While an arrest has not been made as of yet, the entire incident was caught on surveillance cameras in the area, and it is expected that there will be one made in the near future.
This area is a known hotspot for the homeless as well as affiliated gang members and drug dealing related crimes; however, under new District Commander’s leadership, Boston Police has increased resources being devoted to the area, including additional patrol, homeless outreach, and addiction support.
