Drug Trafficker Arrested After Crashing Car While Fleeing

At about 10:47 PM on Monday July 5, 2021, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Sergio Sanchez, 35, of Haverhill for Violation of Auto Laws and Drug Offenses.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Malcolm X Boulevard when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. As officers stopped the motor vehicle and exited their cruiser, the suspect fled in his vehicle speeding off towards Dudley Street where officers lost sight and stopped pursing the motor vehicle.

Later, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) observed the suspects motor vehicle in the area of Victory Road after it crashed into another motor vehicle. The suspect exited the motor vehicle and fled on foot towards Saco Street. Officers were made aware that the suspect was seen hiding in the back hallway of a home and after startling the homeowner, the suspect continued to flee on foot jumping a fence and running across nearby train tracks where he was apprehended by officers.

Sanchez was placed under arrest for several Violations of the Auto Laws.

During the motor vehicle inventory search officers located the following items; One plastic bag of a white powdery substance believed to be Cocaine (27 grams) and a white yellowish rock like substance believed to be Crack Cocaine (2 grams), 180 assorted pills believed to be Xanax, Adderall and Gabapentin, 110 Buprenorphine Naloxone and Suboxone strips and $1,387.00 of US Currency.

Sergio Sanchez was additionally charge with; Trafficking; Class B, Drugs (subsequent offense), Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D, Drugs (subsequent offense), Possession of Class B, Drugs (subsequent offense), Trespassing, Breaking and Entering into a Building in the Night Time and Resisting Arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
