At about 10:10 PM on Monday July 12, 2021, members of the Drug Control Unit were conducting an investigation in the Roxbury area when they began following a motor vehicle of interest. The officers requested units from Area B-2 to assist them in stopping the suspects’ vehicle.
A cruiser from B-2 responded to the scene and was struck by the suspects’ vehicle at the intersection of Fayston Street and Blue Hill Avenue. Following the collision where the suspects slammed into a marked cruiser, both occupants of the vehicle attempted to flee on foot, Jacari Cosgrove, 23, of Dorchester, was immediately placed into custody. The second suspect, Jermiah Boswell, 21, of Boston was located hiding inside of a trash barrel in the alleyway next to 276 Blue Hill Avenue.
Officers recovered a loaded CZ P10C 9mm firearm next to the passenger side of the suspect motor vehicle. The firearm contained one round in the chamber and fourteen rounds in the magazine.
A second loaded firearm which was determined to be a Polymer 80, often called a “ghost gun” because it is untraceable, was also recovered. There was one round in the chamber and thirty rounds in the magazine. Both firearms were equipped with a red beam.
Jacari Cosgrove was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity Feeding Device and Resisting Arrest.
Jeremiah Boswell was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Possession of a High Capacity Feeding Device, Trespassing and Resisting Arrest. They are both expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
