At approximately 18:15 hours, Boston Fire struck box 3733 for a fire at Affordable Auto Care Inc., at 1192 Hyde Park Avenue, in Hyde Park. Multiple companies from the Boston Fire Department, as well as members of Boston Police and Boston EMS, responded to the fire.
First companies on scene found smoke showing from the garage of the automotive repair shop. They quickly identified the origin of the smoke, finding multiple vehicles on fire in the auto bays of the garage. Additional ladders were called in, and firefighters got the necessary access to extinguish the fire after going around the rear of the building.
Companies continued until around 20:00 hours, ventilating and checking for extension, ensuring all hotspots were under control before wrapping up. EMS was on standby, but luckily there were no injuries to report. Damages have been estimated upwards of $500,000. The origin of the fire has not been reported at this time, but will be updated if further information is released.
