Officers Arrest Two Men on Firearm Charges After a Traffic Stop in Dorchester

At about 7:04 PM on Sunday, August 1, 2021, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) made an on-site arrest of Stephon Gross, 26, and Tyrone Holley, 20, both of Dorchester, on firearm related offenses in the area of 43 Fowler Street in Dorchester. While on patrol in the area of the Washington Street and Erie Street, officers conducted a CJIS query on a motor vehicle which revealed the insurance to be revoked.

Officers activated their emergency lights and conducted the traffic stop of the motor vehicle on Fowler Street. Officers approached the driver, later identified as Tyrone Holley, who could not produce a driver’s license. After a CJIS query it was revealed that Holley’s driver’s license had been suspended. Officers also observed a fanny pack on the floor next to the feet of the passenger, later identified as Stephon Gross. For officer safety, both men were removed from the vehicle and an RG .38 Special firearm was recovered from inside of the fanny pack. The firearm was loaded with one round in the chamber and five rounds of ammunition.

Tyrone Holley was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Operation After Revocation or Suspension. Stephon Gross was placed under arrested and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. They are both expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
