Catalytic Converter Thieves Caught in Roxbury After Short Pursuit

August 10th, at approximately 20:30 hours, the B-2 Anti-Crime Unit spotted a car wanted in relation to a BOLO for individuals who had been stealing catalytic converters in the area.

The officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it took off erratically and at a high rate of speed before it eventually crashed in the area of Quincy Street and Baker Ave. The driver and passenger fled on food but were quickly apprehended after a minor scuffle.

The male subject appeared to passed out after seeing his own blood, but after EMS evaluation, both were transported to the station. Luis Chacon, of Providence, and Latoya Wilcox, of East Greenwich, were charged with multiple offenses relating to the thefts as well as the motor vehicle incident, and arraigned in court.
