Gang Unit Recovers Another Ghost Gun During Crime Crackdown

At about 10:19 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite arrest of Devon Alexis, 21 of Dorchester, and Kavon Lancaster, 20, of Dorchester following a firearm investigation in the area of 17 Shepton Street in Dorchester. Officers conducted an investigation that determined that a male, later identified as Devon Alexis, was in the presence of a firearm with an extended magazine.

Officers located Alexis at 17 Shepton Street, and as they approached, Officers observed what they believed to be a firearm partially concealed near Alexis. Officers additionally observed Lancaster had an extended magazine in his possession. Officers placed both parties in custody without incident.

The firearm was determined to be a 9mm “P80” ghost-gun type weapon with one (1) round in the chamber and six (6) rounds in the magazine. The magazine was determined to be a Glock high-capacity magazine that could hold over 30 rounds. Alexis is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Lancaster is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine. Kavon Lancaster and Devon Alexis are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
