Officers Once Again Save Man with Tourniquet in Mattapan Shooting

On Wednesday, September 8, at approximately 02:46 hours, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation indicating one round discharged in the area of Withington Street in Mattapan.

On arrival, the District B-3 K-Car located a male suffering from a serious gunshot wound to the leg, and successfully applied a tourniquet to slow bleeding while awaiting the arrival of Boston EMS.

BEMS transported the victim to local area hospital. Detectives processed the scene. He is expected to live. There are no suspects at this time, and no arrests have been made. No further information was released regarding this ongoing investigation.
