24-Round Shot Spotter Leads B-2 Officers to Firearm Arrest

At about 10:52 PM on Friday, September 24, 2021, Officers assigned to District B2 on-sited a call for Shots Fired at 25 Mt Pleasant Avenue, Roxbury, that resulted in the recovery of a firearm.

Officers assigned to District B2 were on patrol in the area of Dudley Street and Mount Pleasant Street when they heard the sound of gunfire. Officers immediately activated their emergency lights and drove in the direction of the gunfire, where they observed a vehicle with its windows shattered, driving towards the Officers patrol car. Officers made contact with the operator, who advised Officers that they were just shot at while driving. Officers additionally located a discarded firearm on the sidewalk and spent shell casings at the scene.

The firearm was determined to be a Taurus 40 Caliber with one (1) round of ammunition in the chamber and ten (10) rounds in the magazine (11 total rounds).

Detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury/Dorchester) are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and are urging anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact 617) 343-4275.
