Simba Rescued as Roaring Fire on Geneva Ave Extinguished By Boston Fire

At approximately 20:30 hours on December 4, 2021 Boston Fire Department responded to reports of heavy fire showing at 383 Geneva Avenue in Dorchester.

The fire was throughout all 3 floors, and a second alarm was ordered. Quickly followed by a third alarm.

Firefighters were able to save Simba, the cat, who was reunited with his family. All residents were displaced, with Red Cross assisting them to find temporary housing.

After battling the blaze, two Boston firefighters were transported by Boston EMS with minor injuries. Companies remained on scene to monitor any hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
