At about 3:38 AM, on Saturday, January 1, 2022, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a text to 911 call for a person with a gun in the area of 52 Jacob Street, resulting in the arrest of Eumaai Springer, 26, of Boston. Upon arrival, officers observed Springer on Jacob Street and demanded he show his hands. Springer refused, and as he emerged from behind a motor vehicle, officers immediately observed a firearm in Springer’s waist area.
Officers were able to safely secure the firearm, and Eumaai Springer was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. The firearm was determined to be a Polymer 80 PF940C, also known as a Ghost Gun, with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine. Springer was also arrested on an active warrant issued out of Suffolk Superior Court on December 2, 2021, for Motor Vehicle Homicide. Eumaai Springer is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
