Two Men Caught Redhanded by B-2 Units in Overnight B&E

At 2:24 AM on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, Officers assigned to the B2 Anti-Crime Unit made an on-site arrest of Andy Casiano, 33, of Brooklyn, NY, and Jorge Serna-Fernandez, 51 of Queens, MA, for Breaking and Entering at 124 Norfolk Avenue. Officers were on directed patrol in the area of 124 Norfolk Avenue following multiple reports of catalytic converter thefts totaling over $50,000 in property damage and thefts of catalytic converters.

Officers were in the area when they observed that a previously intact fence had been cut.  As officers approached the fence, they observed two individuals, later identified as Casiano and Serna- Fernandez, running through the lot.  Officers established a perimeter around the lot, and following a search of the lot, Officers were able to place Casiano and Serna-Fernandez in custody without further incident. Officers also located a discarded backpack containing a collapsible baton and multiple burglarious tools, including multiple reciprocating saws, multiple replacement batteries, bolt cutters, and spare saw blades.

Andy Casiano is to be charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime, Trespassing, Defacing/Damaging Property, and Possession of Burglarious Tools. Jorge Serna-Fernandez is to be charged with Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime, Trespassing, Defacing/Damaging Property. Andy Casiano and Jorge Serna-Fernandez are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
