Banger from 2018 Quadruple Shooting, Picked Up Again on Firearm Charges in Dorchester

At about 6:22 PM, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an on-site arrest of Jyarie Shoulders, 26 of Randolph, and Nasiru Ibrahim, 21, of Dorchester, on firearm and drug charges in the area of 179 Washington Street.

Officers were patrolling the area in response to recent shots fired incident and in response to a 911 call where a male was seen pointing a firearm at someone. Officers were on patrol when they observed a male matching the previously provided description entering a motor vehicle’s passenger side. Officers conducted a traffic stop and removed both occupants, Ibrahim, and Shoulders, from the vehicle to conduct a pat-frisk. A frisk of the vehicle revealed a firearm in the vehicle, and both parties were placed into custody without incident. A subsequent search revealed Ibrahim to be in possession of a white, rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.

The firearm was determined to be a Springfield Armory 9mm semi-automatic handgun with one (1) round in the chamber and ten (10) rounds in the magazine. Shoulders is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a loaded firearm. Ibrahim is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a loaded firearm, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B. Jyarie Shoulders and Nasiru Ibrahim are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

This is not the first run in with the law, in August of 2018, Shoulders was arrested by a fugitive Taskforce on multiple charges of multiple counts of Assault & Battery to wit a Firearm in relation to a quadruple shooting on the 4th of July.
