Pierce Street in Hyde Park Briefly Becomes the Wild West, Nearly 50 Shell Casings Recovered

On Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at approximately 21:50 hours Boston Police officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting 7 to 8 shots heard on Pierce Street, between West and Walter Streets.

It should be noted, this area is not equipped with ShotSpotter technology.

On arrival, units discovered nearly 50 spent shell casings littering Pierce Street. The scene was quickly secured, and detectives began the arduous task of photographing and processing all of the casings.

A home nearby and a vehicle had sustained ballistic damage, but miraculously no one was injured in the shooting.

No further information has been released at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
