Troopers Arrest American Airlines Employee After He Stabs CoWorker at Logan

Shortly before 01:30 hours on February 16th, Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to Logan Airport responded to a report of an assault on the ramp side of Terminal B. Subsequent investigation revealed that two male American Airlines employees had a physical altercation that resulted in one of them stabbing the other with a multi-use tool.

The victim, a 38-year-old Lynn man, was alert and conscious and was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Troopers subsequently located the suspect, KENRIC SMITH, 34, of Leominster, on the second level of Terminal B and placed him under arrest for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The Leatherman-brand multi-use tool was recovered from his person.

SMITH was booked at the Logan Airport Barracks and was arraigned today in East Boston District Court. Evidence suggests the stabbing was solely the result of the dispute between the two men and that the safety of the public and other employees was not threatened.
