Grown Man Acts Like Child, Refuses to Get Into Police Car After Being Arrested for Illegal Firearm

About 2:15 AM, on Friday, February 25, 2022, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), conducted a traffic stop in the area of Warren Street and Holborn Street resulting in the firearm arrest of Rhoshawn Rogers, 45, of Amesbury, MA.

Officers were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street when they observed a motor vehicle traveling approximately 60 miles per hour on a public way. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour in the city of Boston unless otherwise posted. The motor vehicle made several unsafe lane changes while passing vehicles on the right-hand side.

Officers activated their lights and sirens to conduct the traffic stop. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Rhoshawn Rogers, opened the driver’s side door, reached into the center console and attempted to exit the vehicle. After further investigation officers recovered a loaded Glock 36 firearm with six rounds in the magazine from the center console.

Rhoshawn Rogers was placed under arrest after Extensively fighting in resisting arrest for approximately 15 minutes causing multiple units to have to respond and assist in securing him. He is charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Driving to Endanger. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
