Flower Exchange Found Body Call Turns in to Race to Save a Life

Early yesterday morning, Wednesday March 16, 2022 at approximately 05:00 hours officers responded to The Flower Exchange on Albany Street for reports of a found body.

A truck driver arriving for work discovered a male in the back of his truck, which he had parked there yesterday afternoon after finishing his shift. Members of the Boston Fire Department, Boston EMS, and Boston Police arrived and immediately began CPR.

Boston EMS employed the use of the new Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System (LUCAS) device, which were recently added to all ALS ambulances to improve patient outcomes. The LUCAS device is a system that encompasses the patient and delivers continuous chest compressions. This cutting edge technology has been shown to increase blood flow to the brain, and increases the rate of survival. At this time the man has not been identified and his condition is unknown.
