At about 5:20 PM, on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, Officers assigned to the District B-2 DCU conducting an ongoing investigation into the high drug activity in the area of Atkinson Street and Southampton Street made an onsite arrest of Manuel Coronado-Reynoso, 21, of Roxbury, on a variety of Drug Trafficking and Distribution charges.

Officers assigned to the B-2 Drug Control Unit were conducting surveillance in the area commonly referred to as “Mass and Cass” in response to ongoing resident and business owner complaints of drug activity. While conducting surveillance, officers observed what they believed to be a street-level drug transaction between two parties. Following an investigation, officers determined that Coronado-Reynoso had sold illicit drugs to the individual during the previous interaction that Officers observed. Officers placed Coronado-Reynoso into custody without incident. A subsequent search of Coronado-Reynoso recovered over 100 pills believed to be Gabapentin and 13 grams of fentanyl.

Coronado-Reynoso is to be charged with Distribution of Class a (Fentanyl), Trafficking Class A (Fentanyl), and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class C (Gabapentin). Manuel Coronado-Reynoso is to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
