At about 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 25, 2022, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force conducted a traffic stop that resulted in an on-site firearm arrest of Zakar Bell-Warren, 20, of Boston, in the vicinity of 63 Washington St, Dorchester.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Washington Street in Dorchester when Officers observed a motor vehicle operating with a rejected inspection sticker. Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle.
As they approached the vehicle, officers made several observations of the occupants that led them to believe a weapon was present in the vehicle. Officers removed the occupants and recovered a loaded firearm while conducting a pat frisk of the vehicle. Zakar Bell-Warren was taken into custody without incident.
The firearm was determined to be a P80 with an extended magazine loaded with twenty-four (24) rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Bell-Warren is to be charged with Carrying a loaded firearm without a license, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
Zakar Bell-Warren is to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
