Gang Unit Nabs 19-Year-Old with Illegal Firearm in Roxbury

At about 9:19 PM on March 31, 2022, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest of Jaydon Amir Prather-Walker, 19, of Boston, in the area of Marvin Street and Shawmut Avenue, Roxbury.

Officers were on directed patrol in the area of Nubian Square when they observed two individuals, one later identified as Prather-Walker, walking near the bus terminal.

Officers made several observations of Prather-Walker that caused them to believe that Prather-Walker was in Possession of a firearm. As Officers attempted to stop to talk to Prather-Walker, he began to run at a full sprint but was stopped following a brief foot chase.

Officers recovered a loaded firearm following a pat-frisk of Prather Walker, and he was placed into custody without incident. The firearm was determined to be a Taurus 9mm with one (1) round in the chamber and five (5) rounds in the magazine.

Prather-Walker is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a loaded firearm, and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. Jaydon Prather-Walker is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
