Crash on I-93 South in Dorchester Leaves Miles Long Backup Overnight

Overnight at approximately 02:30 hours on May 1 2022, Boston Fire, Boston EMS and Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police responded to reports of a major MVA with injuries on I-93 in Dorchester in the area of exit 12.

When Troopers arrived on scene they located a vehicle on its roof and a truck with a U-Haul trailer blocking most lanes of traffic. Luckily, there were no major injuries as it took an extending period of time for emergency crews to make their way through the miles long gridlocked traffic.

Troopers were able to clear the majority of the scene quickly as traffic piled up behind the crash scene. At this time there is no word on the status of the occupants from the overturned vehicle and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Additionally we have not been able to confirm if anyone was charged in connection to the crash. The road was reopened completely after about an hour and a half of clean up.
