On May 3 2022, members of the Transit Police Plainclothes Juvenile Unit apprehended a 15-year-old male, known by the street name Stackz, in the Bromley Heath Projects following a brief foot pursuit. Assisted by Boston E-13 and Housing Police, the young man was taken into custody without incident after the short chase through the bricks.
Today the male, who is a member of the infamously violent Heath Street Gang, was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing after being charged with the April 18 shooting at Ruggles Station that seriously injured one person.
The juvenile is charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Suffolk Juvenile Court Judge Peter Coyne ordered him to return to court May 11 for the dangerousness hearing.
The shooting occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on Monday, April 18. District Attorney Kevin Hayden said “We cannot have bullets flying at busy transit stations or people victimized by serial attacks.”
He went on to say, “We and other agencies make services available at every opportunity for kids and families who are struggling. But public safety is essential, and in these cases our approach had to acknowledge the threats posed by these juveniles.”
