While Wu Grandstands in Southie, BPS Comes Under Literal Fire at The Tobin School in Roxbury

Yesterday, shortly after 19:00 hours, while Mayor Wu was holding a press conference about construction site safety in South Boston, the Tobin School in Roxbury was the site of a shootout that left the school yard looking more like the O.K. Corral.

Yet again, Boston Public Schools seem to be a magnet for all things violent and chaotic, with this just the latest in the string of concerning events. Reports of ammunition and firearms being discovered at school becoming an almost daily occurrence, a recent report highlighting the possible sexual mistreatment of students as young as 5, and the foreboding cloud of state takeover looming, it is shocking that this Mayor has still not come up with an actual plan to fix our once great public school system.

Rather, she continues to skirt questions, answer in riddles and avoid any true responsibilities. Luckily in the case of yesterdays incident, no victims were located, but Officers and Detectives from District B-2 were on scene for almost an hour as they processed the nearly 15 spent shell casings that littered the school’s property.
