Shortly after 17:00 hours, Today, May 8 2022, Boston Police Officers from District D-4 and Northeastern University Police responded to the area of 74 Hemenway Street in Boston for reports of a possible person shot. The shooting occurred in a densely populated college area just a few blocks from Fenway Park, Newbury Street and the Prudential Mall.
When officers arrived on scene they located a male victim in a car suffering from an apparent gun shot wound to his arm. Officers quickly applied a life-saving tourniquet in attempts to help stop the man from bleeding out.
EMTs and Paramedics quickly arrived on scene and stabilized the man, before transporting him to a local area trauma center for further care. His injuries at the time are described as serious, however he is expected to survive.
District Detectives were called to the scene to process it by photographing and collecting evidence. Officers could be seen canvassing the area for witness and evidence as well as a K-9 unit that was seen in the area.
Detectives assigned to District D-4 are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and are urging anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact 617-343-5619.
