Armed Robbery Stopped in Dorchester When Store Clerks Fight Back

Last night, May 12 2022, shortly before 21:00 hours, a masked assailant entered the Savin Hill Wine and Spirts in Dorchester armed with a loaded shotgun. As he attempted to rob the store owner at gunpoint, the store’s own surveillance captures what happened next.

Another employee emerges from the rear, quickly running towards the gun wielding perp, body slamming him into the counter as they try and wrestle away the shotgun. Eventually the employees disarm the man, even hitting him a few times with his own gun as they tried to scare him off.

After the skirmish, the employees promptly called 911 and Boston Police Officers and Detectives from District C-11 responded to the store. The responding officers found the clerks shaken but in surprisingly good spirits with such a close call. The suspect’s loaded shotgun now lay on the counter with live shells smattered around where the fight had occurred.

Detectives recovered the firearm, making sure to photograph, process and secure it. Additionally, detectives took copies of the surveillance tapes. at this time no arrests have been made. No further information is available.
