Early Sunday morning around 01:30 hours, club goers on Warrenton Street in the Theater District ran for cover after reports of shots fired inside of one of the clubs. The first reports of this were broadcast by Boston EMS who were on scene at Legacy Club for an unrelated call.

While inside the club they were informed by bouncers that shots had been fired. They immediately radioed for assistance and evacuated the area. One witness told our reporter that the scene was something out of a movie, with a stampede of people running for cover and out of the club.

Additional reports continued coming in about shots possibly being fired inside of Venu Nightclub. Boston Police officers from District A-1 as well as neighboring Districts all responded to the scene. The clubs in the area were evacuated out of an abundance of caution and protective sweeps were conducted.

Although no ballistic damage or evidence was located, at this time shots being fired have not been ruled out. The incident remains under investigation at this time and no further information is available.

Anyone with information should contact District A-1 Detectives at 617-343-4248 or anonymously by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463). We will update further once the shooters have been taken into custody which sources tell us should be soon.
