Boston Fire Responds to Level 2 Hazmat on Methadone Mile

At approximately 09:15 hours earlier today, May 16 2022, Boston Firefighters responded to the area or 90 Southampton Street on Methadone Mile for reports of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

When companies arrived on scene, they located a SUV with heavy front end damage along with a tractor trailer it had crashed into. One of the occupants was transported with minor injuries by Boston EMS to a local area hospital.

As firefighter’s were working the scene they noticed a large leak coming from the tank of the trunk. A level 2 hazmat was declared and they worked to contain the large spill.

Over 90 gallons ended up spilling however firefighters were able to successfully contain most of it. For now, no further information is available.
