Roommates Gone Wrong- Southie Man Under Arrest for Tuesday Stabbing

At approximately 22:30 hours on Tuesday, May 17 2022, Boston Police Officers from District C-6 along with Boston EMS responded to reports of a person stabbed in the area of 268 W Broadway Street in South Boston. When first responders arrived on scene they located a 67 year old male suffering from a large laceration in the center of his throat.

The victim quickly identified the assailant as his roommate, 35 year old Ryan Callahan, who on May 13 of this year attacked the same victim with a hammer. In the May 13 incident Callahan was sectioned after Officers located him naked in a pile of used needles suffering from a clear mental breakdown.

Boston EMS transported the victim to a local area hospital with serious injuries where he was then rushed into surgery. Before being transported, the victim stated that he believed that Callahan was possibly still inside their residence and provided officers with a key to make entry.

Officers then went to the residence on Athens Street where they located Callahan, fully nude, at the front door. He was quickly taken into custody with out incident, dressed and transported to the station on multiple charges and outstanding warrants.

Callahan faces the following charges: Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon on a Person Over 60 Years Old, Assault and Battery on a Family/Household Member, Two Warrants out of Wareham District Court for Violations of Orders of Protection, and a Warrant out of Falmouth District Court for Class A Drug Possession
