Officers Arrest East Boston Man in Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Drugs

At about 11:45 AM, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, officers assigned to the A-7 Drug Control Unit (East Boston), conducted a drug investigation in the area of 326 Princeton Street in East Boston and arrested Edward Vitale, 56, of East Boston.

As a result of the drug investigation, officers recovered a loaded Bersa .380 Semiautomatic with six rounds of ammunition in the magazine and one round in the chamber from Vitale’s ankle area. Also, recovered from Vitale was a plastic baggy of a white substance believed to be crack cocaine. 

Edward Vitale was arrested and charged with; Possession Class B, Drugs, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Edward Vitale is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
