Gang Unit Arrest Man on Firearm Charges following a Call for a Person Shot

At about 5:42 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2022, 05/21/2022, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force were on directed patrol in the area of Washington Street and Dudley Street and made an on-site firearm arrest of Joshua Bajon, 20, of Boston.

Officers were on directed patrol in the area due to a recent call for a person shot on Greenville St. As Officers searched the area, they observed a male on a blue city rental bicycle in the area of Mount Pleasant Avenue.

Officers then received additional information via operations that a male on a blue bicycle was seen fleeing the areas of the shots fired. Officers were able to stop the male, identified as Joshua Bajon, and after a subsequent pat-frisk, were able to recover a loaded firearm. Bajon was taken into custody without further incident.

The firearm was determined to be a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber with one (1) round in the chamber and nine (9) rounds in the magazine.

Bajon is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

Joshua Bajon is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
