Boston Police Officers from District B-3 responded to a ShotSpotter activation for 87 Whitfield Street, Dorchester just after midnight on Friday. On the eve of Gun Violence Awareness Day, sources on the scene confirmed that first arriving Officers located two victims who were subsequently transported to Boston Medical Center by Boston EMS. Their injuries at the is time appear to be serious but not life threatening.
Sources on the scene also confirmed that the suspect, who is believed to be known to at least one of the victim, discharged at least five rounds at the two victims while they where sitting in a parked car. Multiple Officers from District C-11 and the SWAT Gun Cars also responded to the call. It appears as if the suspect fled moments before police arrived.
As of now no arrests have been made and a suspect and vehicle description have not been publicly released. District Detectives responded and processed the scene, collecting ballistic, blood and other evidence. At this time, Boston Police have not yet officially confirm any further information regarding the incident and could not be reached for comment.
