At about 12:20 AM, on Monday, May 16, 2022, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), made an onsite firearm arrest of Darius Boodoosingh, 24, of Lynn, following a traffic stop at the intersection of Dudley Street and Shirley Street in Roxbury.

While on patrol in the area, and after a CJIS license plate query, officers observed a motor vehicle with an expired registration and initiated a traffic stop. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver, later identified as Boodoosingh. Officers requested Boodoosingh to step out of the vehicle so that it could be towed. While exiting, Boodoosingh attempted to reach under the seat. Officers quickly removed Boodoosingh and recovered a loaded Smith & Wesson .38 Special with three rounds in the cylinder.

Darius Boodoosingh was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

This isn’t Boodoosingh’s first run-in with Police, nor is it first time illegally possessing a firearm. In July of 2016, he was arrested in South Boston on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition after officers located loaded Smith & Wesson 38 Special revolver.
