On June 10, 2022, at approximately 2:12 pm Boston Police Officers from District B-2, the B-2 Anti-Crime Unit and Gang Unit responded to a ShotSpotter activation for at least five rounds near 88 Crawford Street, Roxbury.

Officers arrived on the scene and began investigating the incident. Officers secured the area and searched for evidence and potential witnesses. EDT’s were then called to the scene to deal with an unruly and violent crowd that had erupted after a car wanted in relation to the shooting was stopped a short distance from the scene.

Three men were taken into custody by the Gang Unit following the traffic stop and resulting angry mob. Boston Police have confirmed that Dennis Wilson, 32 of Quincy, Tyquan Evans, 32 of Dorchester and Jeremy Harris, 32 of Boston were all arrested and booked on a number of charges.

Wilson is charged with disorderly conduct, Evans faces charges of assault and battery against a police officer resulting in injury as well as disorderly conduct and Harris is charged with possession with intent to distribute class b, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The aftermath of the scene revealed at least five spent shell casings on the street, which officers marked for evidence.

This incident is just one of many shootings in the H-Block area as crime continues on and appears to be increasing as the summer rolls in. One neighborhood woman told me that this was just the first of many shootings she expects will occur this summer.

She reflected back on the shooting that occurred in the same area last 4th of July and expects that the violence trend will continue this year as well.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing. If you are a community member wishing to assist, you can do so anonymously by contacting CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463).
