On June 20th, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Boston Police Department received a call from the Carney that a woman had been stabbed and had self presented at the Emergency Department. The victim states that the incident had accused in the area of 20 Whitman Street in Dorchester.
When Officers from District B-3 arrived on Whitman Street they immediately canvased the area for evidence and witnesses. Eventually they established that the crime scene was actually at 6 Whitman Street, and secured the area. There they found droppings of blood on the ground as well as other evidence surrounding the stabbing. Detectives were called to the scene where they photographed and processed the scene.
The woman presented with injuries that were consistent with a stabbing to her upper extremities when she arrived at Carney Hospital. Luckily, her wounds are not considered life threatening and she is expected to survive. It is suspected that the perpetrator also lives on Whitman Street and according to radio traffic the suspect is known to Officers.
