On June 21, 2022, District D-4 police were making their rounds in Boston’s South End after a recent firearm violence incident. Around 10 p.m., they noticed a group of juveniles loitering the area carrying an open bottle of alcohol.
The police confronted the underage group, questioning them on the public and underage drinking. Police noticed one member of the group wearing a fanny pack around his neck. Upon further observation, authorities were led to believe the bag contained a firearm.
Police frisked the bag and recovered a firearm. They took the juvenile male carrying the gun into custody. The firearm was determined to be a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun. The firearm was loaded with one (1) round in the chamber and eleven (11) rounds in the magazine.
The juvenile male is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Juvenile Court on charges of delinquent to wit: Unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
