Sex Offender Arrested at Shots Fired Call in the South End

Immediately after arresting one individual and detaining several at the San Juan Street housing unit for firearm activity, officers responded to a shotspotter activation at 1050 Washington Street.

Just a few streets over, District D-4 units responded to the gunshots 30 seconds after they fired. two individuals were detained on scene in relation to the investigation. The two men were in a vehicle witnesses said was involved, however after closer examination it became clear the car was riddled with bullet holes.

Police seized the vehicle as evidence and they identified the two men inside before they searched the car. One of the two male passengers, John Brown, 32 years old of Dorchester, who was arrested due to a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender. It is unknown why this particular vehicle was a target for the gunshots.
