On June 24‚ 1994, Lieutenant Steven F. Minehan died while conducting search and rescue operations for trapped firefighters at a waterfront warehouse 9-alarm fire in Charlestown.
Steven F. Minehan was a 20 year veteran of the department assigned to Ladder 15.


A year after his death, he was posthumously awarded the ‘John E. Fitzgerald Medal for the Most Meritorious Act’ in 1995. A year ago his son, Joe Minehan, was made district chief 27 years after his father’s death. Today we remember his service and sacrifice.
