At about 9:31 PM on Tuesday May 31, 2022, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for a large fight in the area of Barry Street and Hamilton Street in Dorchester. As the officers were on approach to the scene, the call was upgraded to shots fired after an unknown suspect, later identified as Kyle Lee, 28, of Mattapan, fired several rounds resulting in ballistic damage to three motor vehicles. The suspect then fled the area in a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Based on numerous investigatory elements, including witness statements, officers were able to identify the suspect. Investigators then determined that the suspect was currently being monitored on a court-ordered GPS device which allowed them to confirm his presence at the crime scene and led them to his current location at a residence on Stimson Street in West Roxbury where he was placed in custody without incident at about 2:02 AM on Wednesday June 1, 2022.

The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
