Elderly Woman Lucky to Survive After Being Grazed by Gun Fire in Hyde Park

At about 1:30 AM on July 4th Boston Police officers from District E-18 responded to the area of 195 195 Garfield Avenue in Hyde Park for resorts of shots fired.

On arrival, officers located nearly 40 spent shell casings as well as ballistic damage to a window in the housing project. An elderly female was eventually located suffering from a graze wound. She was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

At this time no arrests have been made and no further information is available. Detectives assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and are urging anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact (617) 343-5607.
