Gang Unit Grabs Three Guns and Narcotics Saturday in Dorchester CraCk Down

At about 7:21 P.M. on Saturday, July 9th 2022, Officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made on-site firearm arrests of Lyriq Rivera, 19, of Mattapan, Miguel Serrano, 18, of Dorchester, and a 16 -year-old juvenile male of Dorchester. at 45 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Roxbury.

Officers were on directed patrol in the area of Mount Pleasant Avenue when they observed a group congregating in front of 45 Mount Pleasant Avenue in front of and leaning against a vehicle parked on Mt. Pleasant Ave. As Officers approached the group, three individuals, Rivera, Serrano, and the juvenile male, immediately broke off from the group and ran towards the front door at 45 Mount Pleasant Avenue.

Officers were able to gain entry to the building and located all three males on the second-floor landing. After confirming none of the males lived at the address, a pat-frisk was conducted on all three and revealed no weapons. Officers canvassed the flight path of the males and located three firearms inside a trash bag.

All three males were taken into custody without incident. Additionally, during the booking process, Officers recovered a white- rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine and a brown substance believed to be heroin from Rivera.

The firearms were determined to be as follows:

  • Glock 22 .40 caliber Firearm with a laser attachment with one (1) round in the chamber and seventeen (17) rounds in the magazine.
  • P80 9mm with one (1) round of ammunition in the chamber and fifteen (15) rounds in a high-capacity magazine.
  • Springfield Armory XD .45 caliber with a laser sight, loaded with twelve (12) rounds of ammunition.

Rivera is to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession with intent to distribute Class B, Trafficking Class B, Possession with intent to distribute Class A, and Trespassing.

Serrano is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Trespassing.

The 16-year-old juvenile male is to be charged in Boston Municipal Juvenile court on charges of delinquent to wit Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Trespassing.
