RECORDS AND MUGSHOT RELEASED: Suspect With Loaded Firearm Last Month is Repeat Offender and Possible Murder

The information and images contained in this article may be delayed due to the FOIA and public records guidelines which allow departments and government agencies to take up-to multiple months to fulfill requests such as providing booking photos or documents. The inculded reports have been redacted by both BPD as well as Live Boston Staff for reasons of investigatory purpose as well as officer safety.

Last month we reported on the Gang Unit traffic stop and subsequent arrest of Michael Goncalves, 31, of Randolph, MA. At about 6:13 PM on Wednesday June 29, 2022, officers assigned to the BPD Youth Violence Strike Force (YVSF), otherwise known as the Gang Unit, arrested him on firearm related charges following a traffic stop in the area of Dorchester Avenue and Christopher Street in Dorchester. You can see the original story below:

Following a lengthy FOIA/Public Records Request through the Boston Police Department we now have the booking photo and associated report for Gonclaves. The report details how Officers from the Gang Unit were on patrol in Dorchester, when they noticed a vehicle driving in an unsafe and illegal manner, entering “do not enters” as well as driving in the bus lane along with the suspects own stupidity led to the discovery of a loaded firearm.

This is not the first time Gonclaves have had a run-in with the Law, according to the report, he had a previous conviction of Assault and Battery with discharged firearm. A quick Google search shows a wild story of multiple attempted and completed murders which he allegedly carried out. More about these can be read here:
