Officers Assigned to the B3 Anti-Crime Unit Arrest Male in Possession of a Firearm with an Extended Magazine Following Traffic Stop

At about 6:25 PM on May 23, 2022, Officers assigned to District B3 conducted a traffic stop and made an on-site firearm arrest of suspect Boubacar Barry, 18, of Boston.

Officers were on directed patrol in the area of Norfolk Street and Darlington Street when they observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed as the vehicle passed their position.

The officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 278 Norfolk Street.  Officers approached the vehicle and, after making several on scene, observations, believed Barry to be in possession of a firearm.

Officers recovered a loaded firearm with an extended magazine inside of the vehicle.  Barry was taken into custody without incident.

The firearm was determined to be a Glock 22 firearm with one (1) live round in the chamber and nineteen (19) live rounds in the extended magazine, which had a capacity for 28 rounds.  Additionally, a CJIS query of the serial number revealed the Glock 22 was reported stolen out of Portland, Maine.

Barry is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, Possession of a large capacity feeding device, and receiving stolen property.
