Officers assigned to District B-3 Drug Control Unit Make On-Site Firearm and Drug Arrest [Repeat Offender]

At about 11:55 AM, on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in the area of Blue Hill Ave and Fairway Street, Officers Assigned to the District B-3 Drug Control Unit made an onsite firearm arrest of Kaamal Stewart, 37, of Mattapan.

While conducting an investigation, Officers observed Stewart involved in what they believed to be a street-level drug transaction.  Officers approached Stewart and, upon conducting a pat-frisk of Stewart, recovered a loaded firearm.  A subsequent search of Stewart led to the recovery of a substance believed to be crack cocaine and marijuana.

The firearm was determined to be a Smith and Wesson loaded with five (5) rounds of ammunition.

Stewart is to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court and is to be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, Possession of a Firearm with an obliterated serial number, Possession of a Class B substance with the intent to distribute, Possession of a Class B Substance with the intent – second and subsequent offense, Possession of a Class D substance with the intent to distribute.

In November of 2017, Stewart was arrest on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Weapon, Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number, and Operating a Motor Vehicle after License Suspended/Revoked (2nd & Subsequent Offense). In this incident, Stewart was in the area of a call for shots fired and was found to have a a loaded SCCY CPX2 in his possession .

In April of 2018, Stewart was again arrested by the B-3 (Mattapan) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
