Shots Fired on Columbia Road – Suspect Vehicle ID’ed and Recovered

On August 18 2022, at approximately 22:45 hours Boston Police Officers assigned to District C-11 and B-2 responded to the area of 145 Columbia Road for the ShotSpotter activation. Numerous units responded to the area and quickly a suspect description was obtained by officers. Officers issued a BOLO for a white Mercedes with a black male operator with a white shirt and a parcel plate from witness accounts of the drive by.

Officers eventually located the vehicle at the Scrub-a-Dub car wash on American Legion Highway a short time later. Detectives responded to both the scene of the shooting wirer they could be seen collecting ballistic evidence as well as the the suspect vehicle. Investigators could be seen searching the car, which belonged to a known suspect with a lengthy criminal history involving firearms according to a source.

The Officers did not find anything but that does not mean the car was not connected to the shooting as the weapon could have easily been disposed of. The car was sized for evidence pending further analysis and investigation. The man was FIO’ed and released as officers did not have enough to connect and hold him in relation to the shooting.
