Boston Police Hunt for Shooters from Saturday Morning ShotSpotter in Roxbury

On August 20 at approximately 02:00 hours Boston Police Officers from District B-2 responded to the area of 25 Highland Ave for a ShotSpotter activation as well as numerous 911 calls for reported shots fired in the area. When Officers arrived on scene they located numerous spent shell casings in the area and after speaking with witnesses were told that the shootout had occurred between a blue sedan and a resident of a near by building.

Officers immediately broadcast a BOLO for the vehicle and then additionally requested tactical assets respond to the scene in case the shooter who lived in the area was still on scene. Members from Boston Police’s Mobile Operations Unit which includes members of the SWAT Team who are equipped with with shields, rifles, Tasers, and other specialized equipment responded to the area.

After throughly searching the area and speaking to countless witnesses, officers decided that the suspect was no longer present, however they are confident that they know who it is. At this time no arrests have been made per the Boston Police Department.

District Detectives were called to the scene and the area was quickly processed by the B-2 Detectives who marked, photographed and collected the evidence. At this time no further information is available and no arrests have been made in connection to this incident.Detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and are urging anyone with information relative to this investigation to contact (617) 343-4275.
