At approximately 00:30 hours on August 27th 2022, a man was shot on Methadone Mile. Shortly after 16:00 hours the same day, another person was shot in the area of Methadone Mile on Southhampton Street. Boston Police have confirmed both of these incidents and told us that both victims are ‘residents’ of the area and expected to make a full recovery.
The first shooting was committed by a known suspect operating a red moped. The suspect is said to have pulled up outside of a car wash located on Southampton Street, and shot the male victim several times before driving away from the scene. The suspect is only known to police because he dropped his ID as he fled the scene and numerous eye witnesses confirmed his identity to responding Officers.
The victim was soon treated and then transported by Boston EMS to receive further medical attention. His injures are considered to be non threatening, and no further information has been released to the public as the investigation is still ongoing.
The second shooting was much of the same with the victim being treated and transported by Boston EMS to Boston Medical Center with serious but non life threatening injuries. Detectives from C-6 are investigating both of these incidents.
