On Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at about 20:20 hours, EMS and Boston Police Officers from District B-2 responded to a Shotspotter activation at 115 Dale Street in Roxbury. It was soon reported that a male had been shot in the area.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they began canvasing for evidence, witnesses, and victims. They confirmed quickly that there was one male victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds that were severe and life threatening. The victim eventually succumbed to his injuries and he was pronounced deceased on scene by Boston EMS.

Due to the seriousness of the incident, the supervisor on scene made full notifications. Homicide Detectives, Crime Scene Response Investigators, Command Staff members and the District Attorney’s Office were all alerted and began responding. Responders began marking, collecting, and photographing multiple pieces of evidence for further investigation. Police were on scene into the late hours of the night, according to sources inside the investigation.

At this time, there are no people of interest and no arrests have been made. The victim of this incident was one of two victims of fatal shootings in the area on Wednesday night.
