Police Officers from District B-2 Make Firearm Arrest Following Traffic Stop

On Friday, September 2, 2022, at approximately 18:20 hours, Boston Police Officers assigned to District B-2 did make a firearm arrest in the area of 252 Blue Hill Ave following a traffic stop. Officers were in the area when they conducted a random inquiry of the suspects vehicle and found it to be unregistered. Officers activated their lights and siren and stopped the vehicle without incident.

Officers approached the vehicle and began to speak to the operator and passenger and quickly noticed the presence of what they knew to be a firearm. The passenger was displaying numerous signs of someone in possession of an illegal firearm, and even more obvious was the outline of what was clearly a gun in the man’s pocket of his hoodie.

Officers were safely able to get both men out of the vehicle and recovered the firearm, which neither man had a valid license to possess. Distirct B-2 Detectives responded to the scene and process the recovered firearm. The weapon was identified as a Walther PPK with one round in the chamber and seven rounds in the magazine.

The passenger, who Boston Police have identified as 19 year old , of the the South End, was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The 21 year old operator of the vehicle was summonsed on traffic and motor vehicle related charges.
