Officers Recover a Loaded Firearm and Arrest Suspect After a Call for Shots Fired in Dorchester

At about 2:46 AM, on Sunday, August 7, 2022, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), responded to a radio call for shots fired at 104 Woodledge Street in Dorchester resulting in the arrest of Miguel Perez, 33, of Boston.

While responding to the call, officers observed an individual holding a backpack while running away from the scene towards Howard Avenue. Officers caught up with the individual in an alleyway near Cunningham Street, but he was no longer in possession of the backpack.

Officers canvassed the area and located the backpack on top of a wall in the rear of the alley and recovered a loaded Taurus P7247 Pro, with one round in the chamber and thirteen rounds in the magazine.

Miguel Perez was placed under arrest and charged with; Firearm, Carrying Without a License, Firearm, Possession Large Capacity and Ammunition Without FID Card. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District.
